The head connects to a compact processor unit via a very flexible, shielded seven meter (23 feet) camera cable, allowing for easy placement of the small imager into confined spaces. The Fastcam MC1 uses the same tiny, ruggedized camera head as Photron’s Fastcam MH-4 high speed imager, which is designed to withstand up to 100 G’s in the harsh, automotive crash test environment. The compact and robust camera housing enables easy installation into any difficult-to-reach location, making it ideal for slow motion trouble-shooting on the production line. The small (35mm cubed, less than 1.5-inch) remote head camera delivers 2000 frames per second (fps) at full resolution and up to 10,000 fps at reduced resolution.
